Dr. Ariel Figueredo, MD PA - Obstetrics & Gynecology

ARIEL FIGUEREDO, MD PA

Dr. Figueredo was born in Cuba into a traditional Cuban family, where family values were considered very important. Since his childhood, he was inclined to help and heal people. As a result, he  made the decision to study the career of medicine.

He graduated from medical school in 1991 and he was honored with a Golden Seal Award, which is equivalent to the Magna Cum Lauden in the United States, for his academic excellency. He was accepted into General Surgery residency where he completed three years. For political reasons at the end of 1994, he fled to the United States. After being rescued by the Coast Guard, he was sent to Guantanamo Bay where he began treating and giving medical attention to Cubans and Haitians confined at this location. This action was recognized by the US Army and Air Force.

In April 1995, Dr. Figueredo started his preparation to pass the United States board of medicine. Having completed all the requirements in 1998, he entered the matching program in 1999 and was accepted into family practice residency one year later. He began his residency at St. Mary Hospital in Hoboken, New Jersey. The attending physicians recognized his passion for surgery and assisted him in changing to an Obstetrics and Gynecology program, where he has found love and admiration for this specialty.

In 2006, Dr. Figueredo graduated from Marshall University in West Virginia and relocated to the Fort Myers area, where he has been providing care for a myriad of cases. During this period, he took the fast track for board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology, obtaining his certificate as a diplomate in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2007.  During all these years, Dr. Figueredo has gained reputation between his peers and patients.

Now, he has a private medical office where he is providing care from adolescent to geriatric population in a friendly, warm, and personalized environment, where patients can have direct access to him and the medical practice can be done in a balanced manner. This medical office not only allows Dr. Figueredo  to practice as a physician, but also be part of the patient's family using the concept of integral medicine learned in Cuba and applying the United States quality and format
